Chicken Curry with Raw Tomatoes | Green Masala Ckicken Curry | Chicken Curry Without Coconut

Chicken Curry with Raw Tomato and Kohlrabi/German Turnip /knol khol is a delightful blend of tender chicken, tangy raw tomatoes, and earthy kohlrabi, all simmered in a rich and aromatic masala paste. Marinated chicken is cooked with a medley of spices, onions, ginger, garlic, and fresh herbs, resulting in a flavorful curry that's both comforting and exciting.Thid dish is a true culinary masterpiece, perfect for pairing with rice, roti, or dosa.

Ingredients:

- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 4 raw tomato, chopped
- 3 kohlrabi (nulkhol or German turnip), peeled and cubed
- 1 potato, peeled and cubed (optional)
- 1 carrot, peeled and sliced (optional)
- 1½ onions, finely chopped for frying the Masala

For the Masala paste
- 1"-inch piece of ginger,
- 7 cloves of garlic
- 5 green chilies
- 2 dry red chilies
- 1½ tablespoons coriander seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon saunf (fennel seeds)
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon kuskus (poppy seeds)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 1/2-inch piece of cinnamon
- 5 cloves
- 1 cardamom pod
- 1 bunch of coriander leaves, chopped
- 1/2 bunch of mint leaves, chopped
- Tamarind pulp or lemon juice for tanginess
- Salt to taste
- Cooking oil

Instructions:

1. Marinate the chicken pieces with salt and turmeric powder.

2. Grind all the ingredients mentioned for Masala to a smooth paste

3. Cook the chicken and veggies you like to add with Raw adding salt to taste. If you don't like to add vegetables you can exclude it . Raw tomato is a must.

4. Heat oil or Ghee in a pan and fry chopped onion until brown.

5. Add the ground masala paste to the pan and fry until the raw smell disappears and the oil separates.

6. Add the cooked chicken pieces and veggies along with the soup.

7. Pour in some water (or the masala water leftover from cleaning the grinder) to adjust the consistency of the curry.

8. Add salt to taste and Stir well.

9. Cover and cook on medium heat until you get one boil and the curry has thickened to your desired consistency.

10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.

11. Serve hot with rice, roti, neer dosa, or sannas.
