Canada, Oct 7 : In 2015, a team of capable, committed, and energetic individuals formed a non-profit organization Canadian Canara Vision Inc. (CCVI) with the aim of providing affordable burials and to make a difference in the lives of Canadian Catholics, Originating from Konkan and Canara coast.
To achieve this goal, CCVI has been hosting Charity dinner dances to raise funds and awareness among the community. On 28th September 2019, CCVI hosted their 5th annual Charity Dinner dance at the Payal Banquet Hall, Mississauga, Canada.
The evening was well attended by more than 400 guests, sponsors and key personalities from the political front.
Gilbert D’Souza the chairman of CCVI welcomed the guests and highlighted the goals, objectives and mission of CCVI. in his speech. He thanked all the sponsors, guests, the MC, band, DJ and the directors and their spouses for their support at this event.
The M.C of the evening Ivan D’Lima, conducted the event flawlessly and meticulously. The band “Goa Amigos” played live music and the DJ music was provide by John Selvan. Both these groups, kept the guests engaged on the floor with their foot tapping music, that made it irresistible for the young and the old to come on to the floor.
A short felicitation ceremony was conducted to appreciate, Mr. Sheref Sabawy, the MPP of Mississauga Erin Mills riding and the generous sponsorship of Meridian Credit Union, they were gifted with a bouquet as a token of CCVI’s appreciation for their support and sponsorship. Mr. Sabawy in his address note, congratulated CCVI for doing a noble and good cause to the community. He spoke about CCVI’s endeavors to help the community and asked the guests to support them in their mission.
CCVI appreciated the generous contribution of all the sponsors by inviting them on the floor and giving then a rose and dedicating a song as a token of their appreciation.
The highlight of the evening were guest singers Mr. Deep Dhami who performed a segment of Punjabi & Hindi songs and Ms. Vanessa Saldanha, who sang some nostalgic old and new konkani songs. Both of them pulled a record crowd on the dance floor and the guests kept asking for more.
Fr. Ranjan D’sa the parish Priest of St. Dominic Church, Oakville appreciated the service provided by CCVI to the community and said God has called each one to do just that, he then offered grace to God for the meal served. An array of scrumptious food catered by Payal Banquet, satiated the taste buds of all.
The evening was packed with dance, music; tons of spot prizes, attractive raffle draw and door prizes. Most of the guests were lucky to either receive a spot prize, raffle or door prize.
